Computers - desktop - what to ask before you buy
6. What size hard drive should I get in the desktop computer?
The bigger the better. Also, if you want to run new software (e.g. Windows Vista or high end games) you need a big hard drive. You can do with less if you don't store a lot of photos or music or play games. Rough guide? No less than 500GB for every $1,000 you spend on the computer. Remember you can add an external hard drive for quite a reasonable price if you run out of space.
