Compact digital cameras - what to ask before you buy
4. What kind of batteries does the compact digital camera use?
Most have a rechargeable battery and an ac adapter for charging.
Some cameras can use normal alkaline batteries, which makes it easy to buy them if you are travelling, while others have specially shaped batteries that will require re-charging (often at the most inconvenient times). It is worth considering having a spare (charged) battery available for important occasions or when travellilng if you can't use normal AA or AAA alkaline batteries. You may need to add the cost of a spare battery to the cost of the camera.
