4. What lenses do I need on the digital SLR camera?
A digital SLR camera offers the flexibility of using a variety of lenses, easily changed by simply unscrewing them and putting on a different one.
When you purchase the digital SLR camera, a standard lens will come with it (unless you specifically buy the 'body only'). The standard lens will cope with most standard photos. However, the range of optional lenses is huge, including:
- macro lenses, for very close up photos (e.g. insects, flowers)
- wide angle lenses, for broad landscapes and cityscapes
- telephoto lenses, for distant objects, wild animals, and for creative focusing of not-so-distant objects and people.
