SLR digital cameras - what to ask before you buy
8. What about the LCD screen on the digital SLR camera?
The LCD screen on a digital SLR camera up to now has generally not been used to frame the photo (as it is with a compact digital camera). It's main purpose on the SLR is to check photos after they're taken, and to use the various menu options. However, some newer models of SLR digital camera will however display the picture on the LCD prior to shooting (e.g. Olympus Liveview).
Check that the LCD screen size is suitable. What you see in the LCD is pretty much what you get in the photo. The quality of the LCD display is not necessarily the same as your photo - some cameras that take great quality photos have pretty ordinary LCDs.
