2. How much does the DVD recorder cost?
Anything from a couple of hundred to a couple of thousand dollars. Most mid-price models (say, around $500) will perform the most popular functions. Really cheap versions may not have the picture quality you'd like.
Note: If you want extra features, including the ability to catalog and play your music, digital photo and movie collection over your flat screen tv and digital hi fi setup, you may want to consider a Home Theatre PC, which is a dedicated computer with large storage capacity from which you access all your entertainment content.
