DVD recorders - what to ask before you buy
5. What type of discs will the DVD recorder require?
Take a note of what kind of media (discs) the recorder uses.
- Some discs are re-usable, other's can be used once only.
- There's not much difference between DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW which are the most commonly available.
- There are a number of DVD disc formats - the more formats your DVD recorder uses, the easier it will be to get discs, but a single format is no real disadvantage.
- You can also get double-sided discs, High Defintion DVD discs and Blue-Ray discs, which are more expensive.
