3. What energy rating does the refrigerator have?
Make sure it has an energy rating of at least four stars and a low energy consumption. As a fridge is on all the time, and usually has a long life, the cost savings can be considerable. One idea is to include 10 years of running costs into the price of each of the fridges you're considering to give a better comparison of costs.
